2011-2012 Events

Olympic Summer Fete - 23rd June 2012

Total Raised: £ 1,733

The 2012 OHSA Olympic Summer Fete was inspired by the 2012 Olympic Games and featured many activities and attractions specifically linked to the Games.

Thank you to all involved in making the OHSA Olympic Summer fete another huge success. Funds raised will go towards purchasing a sun shade canaopy for the new Outdoor Classroom.

This event was supported with a grant of £300 from Essex County Council as part of the "Celebrate Your Fete" initiative for 2012 Games inspired events.  Funds were used to provide additional marketing and resources to enhance the Olympic theme of the event.

Phil the Bag - 19th April 2012

Total Raised: £ 92.50

FREE 'Phil' the Bag sacks were provided to the children to take home and fill with their unwanted items of clothing & shoes.

40 - 50 bags of textiles were collected on our re-cycle day.  More about 'Phil' the Bag.

Easter Egg Hunt - 29th March 2012

Total Raised: £322.96

A big thank you to everyone who came to the Easter Egg Hunt. 132 children with smiles on their faces (now with added chocolate!) made it a great afternoon.

Thanks once again to everyone who helped. You are stars!

Fashion Show - 31st January 2012

Total Raised: £322.40

Catwalk glamour and high-street style came to Old Heath in January. Nearly 50 pupils thrilled the audience on the night of our 'Kids on the Catwalk Fashion Show'. The parents and extended family of the newly trained 'models' were delighted by the show.

The children arrived at 4:50pm for a rehearsal and outfit selection and then the show started at 6.30pm.

The whole experience was great fun and the children sparkled in their outfits.

Christmas Bazaar - 9th December 2011

Total raised: £730

The school was transformed into a winter wonderland for the annual Christmas Bazaar.  With many of the usual festive stalls and activities, the hightlight was when Father Christmas arrived and took up residence in his illuminated Grotto in the playground.

Thank you to all those involved in making this seasonal event happen and to all who supported it.

Halloween Disco - 20th October 2011

Total raised: £550

Children and Helpers frightened the local residents by turning up to the School Halloween Disco in ghoulish and ghostly costumes on the 20th October.  As well as a Disco in the main hall, there were plenty of activities, such as Apple Bobbing, Colouring, Eyeballs in a jar, Biscuit Decorating, Glow Sticks as well as Spooky Refreshments.

The event was an amazing sell out and a fantastic time was had by all.

Many of our events cannot run without the support of parents.
If you are not able to attend the OHSA meetings but would like to help run some of these events your support would be much appreciated.
It is fun - why not come and help
